Der Meister und Max

Max is a fictitious character borne out of Klopfenstein’s fantasy, the filmmaker who also created Max’s beloved, though she constantly rebuffs him. Because the director has had a creative crisis for a long time now, his characters haunt the film world of their creator – until Max calls on his “master” and obtains special permission. The compilation film, assembled from works by Clemens Klopfenstein, ventures something entirely unique in film history: it tells a new, self-contained story based on the works by one sole director.
