The film is about the people of a Ticino village in the Malcantone region and more specifically about a man in his thirties who for various reasons does not want to leave his village along the Italian-Swiss border. He gets by by smuggling cigarettes. This man likes to film his smuggling activities with an 8 mm camera, focusing on the most spectacular phases. Afterwards he shows the films to his friends and gets their admiration.
I followed the smugglers who work 24 hours a day and filmed all their smuggling actions live. Nothing is staged.
