Born in 1947 in Freiburg. Studied in Zurich and Berlin. 1976 Obtained Doctorate in Zurich. Until 1981 journalist for various Swiss newspapers and edited for Limmat-Verlag in Zurich. Since 1980 author and director of films for cinema and television. Writes screenplays for feature films. 1992-1995 Editor-in-chief of the program Close-up. Teaches Drama at the HGKL (Hochschule für Gestaltung+Kunst Luzern). Visiting professor for Literature and Film at the CSULB (California State University Long Beach).
