Oberstdorf in the Allgäu: High up on the mountain, far back in the valley, herds move from pasture to pasture. The shepherds and alpine dairy families have one thing in common: they would not trade their summer time on the alp for any luxury in the world. They live in and with nature, the animals, in the fresh air, in the middle of the weather and close to the sun. They all work hard, often to the limits of their physical strength. Nowhere else do the mountain people feel such contentment, such happiness, as on their alp - where the soul refuels.
