Uta finds a man. One fine evening she takes him to her flat. She likes him and wants to get to know him. After initial inhibition, the ice melts thanks to sienna wine, crisps and verbal bonding. However, Hans has a decisive disadvantage: he is dead.
What only becomes obvious to the audience at the end of the film is clear to Uta from the beginning. But she is not bothered by it. No sooner has she casually draped his body on the armchair than she generously overlooks the fact of his lifelessness, denies the conversation single-handedly and invents his life and character according to her own preferences. She creates her creature, her ideal partner par excellence.
Only later, in the course of the date, does it turn out that Uta's encounter with Hans was not so coincidental. That the two were in a relationship. A relationship that had long since fallen asleep and was so deadlocked that a new beginning under normal conditions was no longer a possibility.
"Pericardium" is the story of a long-dead relationship that is revived by a fatal intervention.
