Citizen Fred

Fred Ruckli was an 18-year-old farm boy from Meggen, Lucerne when in 1949 he emigrated to his uncle in Livermore, California. The story of the americanisation of a young Swiss who became a man under dramatic conditions. After the Korean war broke out in 1950, Fred was drafted and sent to the frontline although he was still a Swiss citizen. While visiting Switzerland Fred remembers the difficult and successful moments of his life.
